In Autumn, Silvia Wilson moved from her home in Horncastle to Green Bank in West Virginia, US, where radios and mobile phones are restricted. Previously, Silvia said she would get headaches and sickness and claimed to be "allergic" to signals from a mobile phone mast near her home.

Volunteers help allergy woman
A former scientist who's lived in an isolated, unheated shack for almost two decades says she believes her life is about to be transformed. Gillian McCarthy says she's allergic to many of the chemicals found in everyday life.
Thanks Sarah for your concern over my kid's well being. And if by hippy you mean: person who doesn't buy all the marketing and instead does her own research, then guilty as charged.
But because I have done the research, there are ways we have modified our lives to enjoy them and stay healthy. First, my 13 year old does not have a cell phone - only because he's at the age where I don't trust he will use the measures we use to protect our brains from, yes, non-thermal radiation. We use wired air tube headsets.
We also don't use cordless phones anymore. It's really not that big of a deal as a trade off against brain cancer and at least this way we always know where the phone is!
And we don't have wi-fi in the house. I used to love it but it's not worth the risks. It's like having your own personal cell antenna at home. Since we've gotten rid of it, my husband sleeps better.
All the other technology you mentioned doesn't get pressed to our skulls and can be turned off.
But the thing that concerns me about your comment (which btw, I really appreciate that you took the time to write!) is it sounds like you pretty much have drank the cool-aid. Just because there are challenges in our lives, doesn't mean we shouldn't try to overcome them.
Even though the sun emits radiation, I still wear sunscreen. But every kid in vicinity of this cell antenna will be pummeled with radiation contrained by safety standards set for a 6-foot tall man. I had to at least try to stop that.
