Prenatal EMF Exposures Can Lead to Childhood Obesity

De-Kun Li, an epidemiologist at Kaiser
Permanente in Oakland, California, has
a new paper out showing that EMF exposures
in the womb are linked to an increased risk of
childhood obesity.

"Maternal exposure to high [magnetic fields] during
pregnancy may be a new and previously unknown factor
contributing to the world-wide epidemic of childhood
obesity/overweight," Li writes in a paper posted today by
Scientific Reports, a peer-reviewed, open access journal
owned by the group that publishes Nature.

To a query, he said that apart from genetic factors, exposure to electromagnetic radiations mainly by living under high tension cables, use of mobile phones, impurities through petrochemical industries, X-ray radiations, viruses, previous history of traumas and affect of pesticides usage on agricultural products are considered as the main risk factors behind increase in neurological disorders.

Deal with the Devil?

In Baltimore area, churches' bell towers also cell towers
Alison Knezevich, The Baltimore Sun

Hi Alison

I have attached some documents which show why cell phone antennas should not be installed anywhere close to people and certainly not in a church.  I hope that you will report the dangers.

Sincerely

Progressive Landlord

My prospective landlord has offered to put in a Wireless clause in my lease, stating that if any cell towers or smart meters are installed in a way that cause me to become ill, she will allow me to break my lease with 30 days notice.  She offered this without being asked.

She is aware of my problem with EHS, was present when I measured the apartment (EMFs were below .5; RF at about 1 to 2 micro watts/square meter), and she knows that it is costing me huge sums to get out of my present lease of an apartment located 40 feet away from 2 4G stealth the cell towers.  She doesn't want me to have to face this again in the future.

She owns several properties in Los Angeles, is a real estate agent, and a member of the Apartment Owners' Association.

This is real progress in my opinion.

NCEHS Petitions the National Council on Disability to Address
Chemical and Electrical Sensitivities;
Public Comment Periods Thursday and Friday

29 organizations and 350 individuals have signed on in support of the 6 NCEHS recommendations for action by the National Council on Disability (NCD) to address some of the needs of people with chemical and electrical sensitivities. (NCEHS statement attached.)
Thanks for YOUR help in making this effort a success!
I had intended to be in the audience at the NCD Quarterly Board Meeting in Washington, DC this Thursday and Friday—to present public comment in person, but projected DC temps of 102 and high ozone levels forced me to rethink that decision.
So, I'll join the meeting by phone.
Public Comment is scheduled for Thursday, July 26, 4:30-5:00 EDT
and Friday, July 27, 11:00-11:30 EDT.
Call-in number (800)239-9838 Passcode 1412617, Conference Leader: Aaron Bishop. The NCD announcement is attached.
During the public comment period the NCD accepts statements on any topic but is particularly interested this time around in discovering what the public believes should be included in the NCD's 2012 statutorily mandated Progress Report to the President and Congress. The Progress report needs to address our issues!
You can send written comment in support of the NCEHS recommendations to the National Council on Disability. Address your statement to PublicComment@ncd.gov using the subject "Public Comment." Please copy marylamielle@ncehs.org.

Isaiah Brock is a retired Air Force Sergeant who lives in South Miami-Dade.

He says shortly after FPL installed smart meters in his neighborhood, he started feeling sick and added, "It caused me to lose sleep. It caused me to have a whole bunch of headaches. I couldn't get my work done because I was constantly feeling sleepy and tired."

He blames the wireless transmissions from the new meters.

Cherry Picking Science

Some scientists are criticized for cherry picking their studies when in fact they are falsifying a hypothesis.  Falsification, a concept coined by Sir Karl Popper (philosopher of science), is one of the methods that differentiates science from other forms of acquiring knowledge.  This video explains the difference between cherry picking and black swan citing/sighting and uses the health effects of electrosmog as an example. It mentions the BioInitiative Report and other documents/appeals/resolutions related to the health effects of electrosmog.
