Angry Customers Return SmartMeters

About a dozen SmartMeter opponents lined up to return the controversial device, Wednesday, and when they showed up, PG&E called police. "This is not a protest," said Joshua Hart, Stopsmartmeter.org. "This was simply returning PG&E's property to them. Property that was not wanted on people's homes."

Class Action Suit Seeks to Limit Smart Meter Use

California's Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) is again coming under fire for its use of wireless-equipped smart meters, this time in the form of a class action lawsuit.

The lawsuit, filed by Northern California electromagnetic radiation consulting firm Wilner & Associates, lists ten grievances ranging from alleged misrepresentation of radio frequency (RF) levels emitted by the meters to alleged unlawful use of property. The filing also claims PG&E has violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by allegedly ignoring the rights of customers who suffer from medical symptoms they believe are caused by electromagnetic radiation from the meters.

The lawsuit calls for more than $2 million in sanctions, $10,000 fines per customer regarding various allegations of health-related discrimination, and requirements that PG&E obtain written consent for every smart meter installed and provide an analog meter at no cost to any customer who requests one.

Recent research shows that RF emissions from smart meters are within federal limits for such emissions and below the levels emitted by other devices that are commonly used in and around homes (see "Radio Frequency Exposure from Smart Meters Very Low, Says Study," EBN Apr. 2011).

Antigonish County couple files lawsuit

For Marshall and Edna Pettipas what was supposed to be a dream home has turned into a nightmare. The Antigonish couple has launched a lawsuit against Bell Aliant Regional Communications Inc. claiming a telecommunications tower built on their property has made them sick.

Very big trouble for us all

The strong majority of scientific study directly related to cell tower emissions, indicate very big trouble for us all. This is ignored by our federal regulator. On the Pettipas' case might rest the public & environmental health of all Canadians. For one indicator, health care costs after plateauing in the '90s finally, began their current unsustainable inexorable year-over-year rise from when? The inception of mass cell telephony, late '90s. And that's not all about aging & equipment acquisition. Add to that all the other ambient electrosmog endangering us all (wifi, smart meters, phones, etc), and you will see why any court judgement properly in the Pettipas' favour, stands to positively affect the health of all of us through inducing corrective regulatory measures at least.

The guidelines the defendant points to and abides by, "Health" Canada's, were obsolete from inception, taking into account effectively merely possible heating effect from such radiation, and only considering power levels; whereas research has long shown, regardless of whether we have satisfactory explanatory "mechanisms" for the wide array of reported & studied radiofrequency harm, that many other factors are relevant in judging safety or lack thereof, e.g. modulation pattern, resonance, biovariability, bioeffect "windows" (non-linearity of response), peaks, and so on. Let the grossly unprotective inadequacy of "Health" Canada's (Orwellian-named) "Safety" Code 6 be implicitly or explicitly established before the wide public, to which end it is hoped the Pettipas' just cause contributes.

Rosemary Found to Offer Best Protection against Radiation Poisoning

The fact that carnosic acid and carnosol found in rosemary are fat soluble allows them to provide highly asignificant protective anti-mutagenic activity. Even the most powerful water-soluble antioxidants lack the capacity to protect against gamma ray induced damage.

So my Smart meter cost $500 and my absolute maximum savings per day by switching all my consumption to off peak are 20 cents. I will then have to shut my house down for 6.85 years of peak period consumption just to cover the cost of the Smart meter. Not hard to figure out that this program is an absolute pure waste of time and our money.

Great article in "pop cxr" magazine highlighting the dangers of EMF radiation and how to mitigate risks. Of particular interest on p. 6 under "13 Ways to Minimize Your Exposure" #13 cites "Beware of the smart meters that utilities are installing throughout the U.S..."

As a result of reading this article I reached out to the coporate office in MN to establish a local partnership in Naperville as well as statewide.
